Heartbreak Poem by Teens

Poem About Teenage Struggles

I've been suffering from extremely severe depression for quite some time (about 11 years - I'm 15 years old now). During my struggles, I've hit rock bottom quite a lot. Battled with anorexia, self-harm, had multiple suicide attempts. I always felt hopeless and as if no one understood what I was feeling inside. That's why I decided to submit my poems. I want to help other teenagers with the same struggles, to show them that they're never alone and that there's always someone out there who cares.

Stone Cold Affection

©

Published: November 2015

Stabbing through with your concrete blade
You shattered my once indestructible heart

I thought I was strong - could handle the pain
But your force and power
Left me broken in vain

Torn like an old love letter - frozen in time
I lay cold on the floor in my crimson paradise

Your image chained to the corners of my mind
Your words carved from my existence
Love - a passionate crime - something I never could find

You stabbed right through with your stone cold affection
And left my soul battered and dead
