STOP Suicide Poem

To A Friend Who Lost His Mother To Suicide

This poem that I wrote is about a deep friend of mine who lost her mother. Her mother killed herself because she was a depressed drug addict. She left her child without saying goodbye.

Why Mum?

Hey, Mum, I know your sad,
But guess what? Don't be mad.
'Cause I still love you, just like dad.
I know you're ill and want to kill,
I think you're scared 'cause no one cared,
Now fill it up,
No more cuts,
Wipe them tears,
No more nightmares,
Face them fears,
I know how it feels,
It just kills by taking those pills,
Mum I just want you to chill.
Why can't you be like other mums?
Their not living like a bum,
I know you're not dumb,
But when you had that gun,
(I was like) man, Mum, what have you done,
Why did you do that?
It was just so dumb,
What did you have with that gun?
Was it fun?
It's ridiculous,
Now guess what?
I'm number one!
I'm sick of this,
It makes me sick,
Knowing what you did,
Even though you had a kid,
But no, that didn't matter,
Doing what you did,
Now I'm at school,
Feeling like a fool,
I use to be cool,
Now things have changed,
People are forgetting my name,
But guess what?
My name is July Jane,
So if you can feel my pain
Don't forget my name.
