With My Magic Glasses, I Can See

Published: February 2006

With my magic glasses, I can see,
My life changing in front of me,
My Mother and Father together again,
My brother is healthy and happy.

My sister, with a husband longer than five years,
Me living peacefully and shedding no more tears,
My brother winning top honors in his class,
My parents never fighting over a whiskey glass.

Me on a stage dancing away,
With a job I love
With music that makes me sway
But when I take my glasses off,

All my fantasies slowly fade
All my tears start down again
As I look at my crumbled world
It all seems to be but a dream.

My Brother still sick and not himself,
My Sister choosing men like clothes,
My parents fighting away their lives,
Me striving hard too at least change mine.
