Imagine an endless darkness
where the air is filled with pain,
where there are endless cries of torture,
where good is always in vain.

A place where the tears that are shed
no longer hold meaning of sadness,
where the hatred that rings in your ears
continues to light up your madness.

A place where you don't want the light,
for fear that you'd rather be blind,
where the nightmares inside of your thoughts
continue to sneak from behind.

Imagine an endless darkness,
where you can no longer breathe in the air.

Imagine an endless darkness,
where happiness is no longer there.

I'm living under a shadow,
No shape, no sound, no time.
A black and white silent film
That haunts a troubled mind.

Broken dreams lay all around;
Life has left its scars.
On a journey of remembrance,
Walking blindly through the dark.

Echoes call me from the past,
Familiar voices seem so near.
They fill an empty void,
Although it's only ghosts I hear.

In a world of yesterdays,
Life's lost all reality.
For memories are all that's left
As I await my destiny.

Unseen, unheard, my voiceless cries
I tell you I'm fine through honeyed lies
You smile and nod, just what you wanted to hear
You don't really care, that much is clear

Unwanted, unloved, the voices whisper to me
I'm breaking and drowning, but you don't see
You just smile absently and turn away
Leaving me drifting another day

Unhappy, unpleasant, my life has become
Will somebody save me before the damage is done?
Someone to guide me into the light
Someone to help me win the fight

Unending, unbearable, these thoughts and fears
I number my breaths as I shed silent tears
I pray and I beg that you'll glance up at me
Notice the darkness, finally see

Unfeeling, uncaring, I can't take anymore
You don't even register that I head for the door
I walk and walk, no destination in mind
Seeking only to leave you far behind

Unthinking, unseeing, the world passing by
I hold myself as I softly cry
Someone sits down beside me, wipes away my tears
"I see you, I hear you, I had the same fears"

Unsteady, unsure, I begin to smile
This feeling, this stirring, it's been a while
Someone has come to pick up the fight
The voices lessen, I'll be all right

As a child, I recall, I used to think the coolest thing to be,
truly nothing could be more fun than invisibility.

I could sneak up on my sisters and scare them if I chose.
I could frolic through the park all day without a stitch of clothes.

I could listen to friends' secrets, know everybody's plans.
I'd know what lovers whispered when they were walking, holding hands.

I could catch wild birds and bunnies, steal honey from the bees.
I wished so very many times for invisibility.

As a man I knew, or thought I knew, amid strength and vim and such,
believe only in the things we see, most in what we can touch.

And the wind alone, on her orphic voyage, as she blows across the seas
knows the secret, which she holds close - invisibility.

Now I sit here on this bench all day and never get a glance.
My steps are slow, my hair is grey, near the end of life's sweet dance.

No one hears the words I say, a gnarly face that no one sees.
It seems my childhood wish was granted - invisibility.

Point of view, I guess, where we're standing at the time,
and the things we're so damn sure of can turn right on a dime.

And those things we sometimes wish for may in another season be
Like what I granted late in life...invisibility.

I waited, and you didn't come.
I called, and you didn't answer.
I knocked, but you weren't home.
And I realized that I was alone.

I cried, but no one comforted me.
I screamed, but no one heard me.
I gave up and laid there.
Alone. Why was I always alone?

I hurt, but there was no help.
I begged, but I was ignored.
I laughed maniacally at my foolishness.
I knew I was alone.

I was always alone.
No one was there.
No matter how many times
I called knocked, cried, screamed...
I was alone...forever alone.

I was fake.
I was imaginary.
I was a pawn,
But most of all
I. Was. Alone.

Untitled - that's me.
I have a name, but it's never used.
I have a mind, but like the rest of me...it's confused

Untitled, a nobody. Just a random girl.
An untitled person walking around the lonely world.
Like everyone else, you treated me the same,
An untitled person, just a name.

My life is falling apart,
Can't get rid of this fragile heart,
Headache from all the tears,
Restless sleep, thinking about fears.
No more happiness,
No more tears left to cry,
Good memories, say goodbye.
Broken love, broken hope,
My fragile heart doesn't know how to cope.

My heart is but an island
Inside this castaway.
Surrounded by the ocean blue,
I hope to sail someday.

Stranded on this distant shore,
I plan for my escape.
Headed to the Bay of Love
Where calm, clear waters wait.

So far out from the fray.
Beyond the blue horizon
I live from day to day.

Where no one else can see
The loneliness, I must confess
That hides deep down in me.

I often walk in early morn
engrossed in time's once new.
with thoughts and dreams of things long past,
the carefree days of youth.

Those hurt and loved, embrace them all.
Repent the things done wrong.
My words can not begin to say
What's felt within my heart.

The silent night, she placates me
Inside her dark cocoon.
She keeps man's world away from me
Where I can be myself.

Shoe-kick a stone like me alone
With no real place to go.
Time hasn't been so kind to me.
The future's insecure.

The family's grown away from me.
My body's wearin' down.
Not certain what will come of me,
Seems Yesterday's all I've got.

So I'll lay upon thick carpets green,
so gentle to the touch.
And suck upon a blade of grass,
While my mind, it again wanders off.

To hear the morning birds a new.
Their songs they comfort me.
I know there's really nothing left.
Unleash red veins to free.

I watch the light of day come on.
I feel the sky turn blue.
I sense the dawn come splashing down,
My life, it ends too soon.

After I knew the person you showed the world,
I searched for the person you are.
He was nowhere around
Where was he to be found?
Behind the person you wear?
Can I see you without him there?

There are walls set up
Life has never let up
They have saved you in the past
The area they cover is vast.

If only I could spend sometime in your mind
Then I could truly see what makes you one of a kind
But, I'd rather you be able to open up and tell me
The door has been locked from the world, you see?

I want to be the key to your sanctuary
Let go of the hardships that you no longer need to carry
I will share in the weight
I will take it off your plate

Do you know how it feels to be able to share in pain?
For someone to be there throughout the strain.
I know you don't want to bother loved ones
When I want to help, that is no reason to run

I want you to feel the serenity that comes from trust
Life does not always have to be unjust
So let go and fall into me
I'll be here forever, you'll see.

Hurting
Because no one cares at all.
Crying
Because no one hears me call.

Anguish
Is what I feel.
Pain
That I always conceal.

Hiding
Inside these walls of stone.
Lonely
In these walls I'm on my own.

Scared
To show you who I am.
Doesn't matter,
You never gave a damn.

Struggling
To win this fight.
Lying,
I told you I was all right.

Alone,
It's always been this way.
Friends,
In the end they always betray.

Angry
You never even cared.
Broken,
My heart will never be repaired.

Willing
To accept defeat.
Suffer,
I am alone and obsolete.
