I want someone to hold me,

I've been the same way, but you are never alone. God is there for you, Your friends and family care, even if they don't know the best way to show it. People are there to help you; you just...

I've lied way too many times today.
I've lied again and again directly to your face.
I never thought I'd be this way.
I thought I'd always be okay.

I know this feeling well. I have been there a few times. In a way, I feel like that now. For me, when I was so, so lost I picked a church in my town and went one Sunday and sat in the back...

What a pathetic girl, staring back into the mirror.
What a timid girl, overcome by fear.
What a shell of a girl, locked up inside.
What a forgotten girl, pushed off to the side.

The rain is pouring down again,
And for that she thanks God.
Maybe it will wash away the burning stain
    That's hurting her heart tonight.

  • The Walking Dead

This poem was written during a long and hard season of depression. It expresses the deadness and emptiness that accompany depression. When I was in this phase, I felt like everyone was blind to the pain and despair going on inside of me. No one checked on me or asked how I was doing, because to the outside world, I had my life together. I was a 4.0 student and an all around good teen. I did not need help, so people usually left me to fend for myself. As a result, I was deeply lonely.

"How are you?" ask the blinded eyes
"I'm doing good." comes the cheerful reply
Across my face a smile is painted
One that looks perfect and untainted
