Hello Peter, I loved your poem because I read your introduction' a suggestion you mentioned on the forums. The meaning behind it takes it to a higher level. It is very relatable. . Great job. Lucylove2022

I was about 7 years old and my cousin took advantage of me and raped me but I could never tell anyone cause he said if I did he would make my life worse, this continued till I was about 12 years old then he finally stopped. I recently opened up about it. Then when I was 15 turning 16 I was raped again by someone I thought I could trust, I saw him as an older brother/father figure but he took advantage of me as well. Then I was raped again 12 days before my 16th birthday by someone who went to my school. The school didn't believe me so I had to see him everyday until my mom said something about it. No one should ever have to go through this and if you have had to I am very sorry I know how much it hurts, mentally and emotionally I'm still trying to heal after years. It is okay to take time with healing just know you are brave and powerful and you can get through anything

Yes, I was touched by this poem. I too live alone and miss my husband more than I can say. We too met when I was just 16 years old. We were married for well over 50 years. Thank you for your poem. Best wishes, Ann.

Good advice - most of us have to learn to cope with things not working out quite as we hoped. Best wishes, Ann.

Hi Sarah,

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on my poem. It really means a lot to hear that it helps you. I was worried initially to share my poem so publicly as it was sharing my most vulnerable feelings, so the fact it resonates with others on their journeys and has been able to bring even the smallest bit of help too, makes me so glad that I did decide to share it.

Wishing you all the very best!

This poem really hit home today. Fell into a really bad habit and am now struggling to quit. 2 years increasing to weekly, at periods daily. Foolishly seduced taking its hand and led astray. Willingly watching it replace so many opportunities for progress and happiness. Why why why? It's apparent that yes yes yes becomes the default setting and I do remember the moment I realized I was already in dangerous territory. Felt like falling into a vortex. Thank you for the inspiration to reflect and the thought of a sunnier day that surely keeps the flame of hope alight

" It is what you choose for your life." This is the issue, life is what we make of it. Sadly, we sometimes make mistakes or even commit sins. We appreciate what we had, not what we have. Still, we always seek forgiveness. God is merciful.
