How do I find a poem? Poems are organized by Category and then Subcategory. Use the menu found on the left side of every page to select a main category of poems (Family Poems, Love Poems, Sad Poems etc....) Clicking on the link will bring you to the home page for the selected main category. The menu on the left will open up and display a list of subcategories. For example if you click on Family Poems, then you will go the Family Poems home page (www.familyfriendpoems.com/family). The list of subcategories under Family Poems will list, in alphabetical order, all subcategories of Family Poems (Abuse Poems, Brother Poems, Mother Poems, Sister Poems, etc.) |

Are all submitted poems published? Certainly not. All poems are reviewed by our editor and only a select few are posted on our website. If your poem is selected for posting, you will be notified via email. There is a long waiting period for poems to be reviewed (2-3 months) As a alternative to submitting your poem, we encourage all Poets to post their poems on our FFP Poetry Forums, where you can get as well as give feedback immediately from a very special group of poetry lovers. |

Who owns the copyright of the poems? All poems on this website are copyright by the individual authors. US and international copyright laws apply to all poems published on Family Friend Poems. By submitting a poem to Family Friend Poems, the poet has only agreed that their poems can be published on Family Friend Poems not any other place on the Internet. All poems displayed on Family Friend Poems have been submitted by the poets themselves. If you feel your poem has been published on this site without your permission, you or your legal representatives should contact us using our Contact Form and ask us to remove the specific poem from the site, this will be done immediately. Please include the URL on Family Friend Poems where the poem is posted, the URL where you originally posted the poem, as well as other relevant information proving the poem is yours. The publishing rights for all the other material on this website belongs to Family Friend Poems. These materials cannot be used without permission from Family Friend Poems. |

It may not have been reviewed yet. If it has been reviewed there are many reasons why we choose not to post poems. The mission of Family Friend Poems is to post poems which touch our visitors. Your poem may not be what we are looking for. Another common reason poems are not posted is spelling, grammar and other errors which would take too much time to correct. |

What does this mean: Has this poem touched you? Share Your Story Stories are where you can share your personal experiences and feelings relating to the poem you just read. Stories add value to the poem and the webpage. Like poetry, they are expressions of raw and unfettered emotion, and many times they are the reactions which are shared by thousands of readers who choose not to contribute their stories, and instead relate through reading your stories. |

Why wasn't my story (comment) posted? It may not have been reviewed yet. Stories are usually reviewed within 48 hours If you submit a comment such as "Great Poem", it will not be posted, for the very simple reason that it does not add anything of value to the webpage. Another common reason comments are not posted is spelling, grammar and other errors which would take far too much time to correct. |

Why should I rate a poem? What are the votes used for? Family Friend Poems has a rating system in place and each and every vote for every poem is recorded in our database. We depend on your feedback through rating poems you like as well as for poems which are average or bad.
