Mirror, Mirror
who do I see
who is the girl
staring back at me
with a softer smile
and a warmer face
who has put her
in my place
no great change
has happened since then
why has my heart
chosen to mend
smiling and humming
like a fool
did something happen
was it school
I remember now
those long nights alone
he appeared, he was kind
he was a home
saved from myself
again and again
he was a hero
he was a friend
he is the change
in the mirror I see
he made it okay
for me to be me
who do I see
who is the girl
staring back at me
with a softer smile
and a warmer face
who has put her
in my place
no great change
has happened since then
why has my heart
chosen to mend
smiling and humming
like a fool
did something happen
was it school
I remember now
those long nights alone
he appeared, he was kind
he was a home
saved from myself
again and again
he was a hero
he was a friend
he is the change
in the mirror I see
he made it okay
for me to be me
