Whoa! This is an amazing poem. You're right, you never should've had a reason to write this, but I'm glad you did! It really warmed my heart. You are right about 9/11 banding America...

A very touching poem. I'm sure your neice did take your hand. I have an opposite story. My neice was nine when she heard gunshots outside her house. She told my sister (who was deaf) and my sister didn't believe her. The police knocked on the door and told them my sister's husband and my neice's father had just been murdered. My sister died of an overdose a year later.

I just love recovery poems. It's funny how just saying no releases us from the bondage of the drug. Prisoner no more, you are free. Stay that way.

A very sad and touching poem. I just recently submitted a poem called "A Father's Love" about child abuse and how more often than not the perpetrator is someone known and who "should" be trusted. very, vary sad

A very touching poem. When we leave those we love in the garden of love that we had on earth, it is a comfort to know that we go to God's Garden of Love in Heaven for eternity. God Bless!

An excellent poem! I could actually feel "Her Hands" guiding me through the whole poem. More importantly to me is the fact that Maggie knows her mother now needs "Her Hands" to help her get through her twilight years and is willing to reciprocate. Often times people forget all that their Mom has done for them and forget about them when they get old.
