Poem on Friendship

The art of friendship involves a meshing of two personalities, each fully present without diminishing the other.

You

© Merab Wossen

I notice you,
Your efforts to invite conversation are obvious.
You seek mutual interests
And we are able to exchange thoughts.
I appreciate you.
You pleasantly offer your individuality.
Your words are bold,
Your deliverance remains sweet.
I see you.
Though I don't look directly at you
Please understand I am infected by your charm.
I breathe your air because you are my air.
I know you.
When others are oblivious, I find your irony.
I read between your lines
Because that's where you can find mine.
I respect you.
