My Last Love

You're not my first
But you are my last

I been through a lot of break-ups
But that's all in my past

Laughter that never ends
Because you bring me so much joy

I was lucky to have you as a friend
Now I'm blessed because you're my boy

It was a lot of options
But I was glad to choose you

You might have lied to them
But I believe your words are true

But like opposites attract
And I'm attracted to you

I want you to be the last boy in life
That I say "I love you" to

I was born into a family destined for separation. At birth my biological dad left. Abandoned by him I gained a new man to call dad. Dad married into a female dominant family and didn't like the authority mom had. They divorced. I was left visiting him every other weekend. Finally, my mom remarried to my third dad, to whom I am completely unattached because it is too much pain, that of separation, for me to withhold. My uncle to whom I was very close to left to Illinois. My grandmother was married 4 times and divorced three. I have had countless heartbreaks. The separation is why you must guard your heart with a golden shield.
