21. Bright Light
I see you, darling.
Holding on to your hope with both hands.
Feeling exhausted with all the turbulence.
But not letting go.
I see you, darling.

But not letting go.

Have faith
that although it may seem
like the good has come and gone,
there will be better.
Wow! I love it. My kind of writing. Short, to the point with powerful words, and a great message. I have witnessed firsthand how better has come, many times.

Despite the storms,
beauty arrives like
it was always going to.
Despite the darkness,
Part of the last line says, "Keep living." I'm saying keep writing. I like your style and sensitivity. Excellent flow and structure. I really enjoyed it.
I am learning to find hope
in the smallest and most unexpected places
like the whispers through the forest
and the velvet evening sky
This poem speaks to me. I really like it. We spend so much of our time focusing on things that really don't make life better and we miss out on many of the things that do.
When I awake to one more dreary day,
an empty heart with empty hours to fill,
I know that brighter skies will come my way.
Florence, what a lovely comment; it means a great deal to me. Thank you.
A blank parchment is lifeless
Until a pen creates a melody.
A song is revered ageless
Because of a sweet harmony.
Music is my channel broadcasting the emotions of love, pain and happiness with a rythm... The harmony of the notes, and rythm explains it all...it can be with unheard words, from an...
I have an invisible friend
Who guides me through dark and pain.
She always tells me not to give up
As she believes my efforts will never go in vain.
This poem is very well executed. I love how you gave hope human characteristics. This isn't typically my genre, so I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed reading it, and it made me...
The blossom will always grow.
The seasons will always change.
People come and go,
Their shadows comforting and strange.
When everything's darkness
And you feel so alone,
When the rain doesn't stop
And you can't make it home,
Wow! This is an amazing poem! I love how the poem just flows and makes so much of sense. Thanks for sharing this beautiful poem. I know you posted this like 2 years ago but I hope you're...
However many tough things we go through
Or any regret we can't undo,
Please know I will be here.
Even far away, I will still be near.
How hard it is to heal a broken heart.
Everything seems so dark,
And it seems like the stars even lost their spark.
Loneliness just pulled me apart.
Life can seem an endless maze,
The twists and turns, lulls and delays,
But things always fall into place...
In good time.
Famous Poem
I went down to the river,
I set down on the bank.
I tried to think but couldn't,
So I jumped in and sank.
Everyone is born for a purpose, but we forget that in pursuit of money. Then God gifted me with poetry and uses it as a medium to educate people, and in each of my poems there is a story...
My heart flows through this icy land.
Come and take my lonely hand.
Show me how to make things right.
Cry these tears no more tonight.
I'm glad that my poem made you want to try and want to make things better in your life. I understand exactly what you are going through. I went through something similar, and I know my heart...
In every walk you take
There will always be a bad day.
When tears kept flowing
From failures and disappointments,
I've always viewed life from the side lines,
Just watching it passing me by.
In the past, too afraid to just let go and live,
And lately too tired to try.
Oh Patricia, your poems are as good as ever and mean so much. You only have to look at all the comments to see how your writing affects so many of us. Keep going. Very best wishes, Ann.
I wish for the day when a man is a man,
when the flaws of another aren't gold in his hand.
When the bread in his kitchen is ample for meals,
Loved this heart touching poem. I am 14 and analyzing and reading this for an assignment. You have inspired me to start writing poetry as well.
When you recover, what will you do?
When you recover, will you still be you?
Will you be stronger, will you be new,
When you recover from what you've been through?
I've been to hell and back, as a survivor of CSA. Your poem inspired me in such a deep way; the healing process strips us of our former identities and we stand empty and alone, trying to...
Often we can't see
The beauty in the pain.
Often we can't see
The treasure we gain.
This poem has really taught me how to value the thing we have and the people around us. We never know what we have got until it's all gone, so be wary that you don't lose the moon while...
I gracefully bloom in July,
Clothed in a delicate silk,
Fringed with a delicate lace,
Sprinkled with the color of milk.
This is a very beautiful poem. The inspiring topic and the perfect rhyme add charm to the poem. I can picture the lily standing in the field, a glimmer of beauty in its entire surroundings,...
