Special Friend Poem
This poem is dedicated to my sister-in-law, my brother's second wife. When we were first introduced, we took an instant dislike to each other. We were estranged for several years. Yet, we tried to be civil when the family got together. She developed MS and suddenly our differences didn't seem to be important. After we discussed our differences, we became close. Today, we talk on a regular basis. She calls me the sister she never had. And I am honored to have that position.
Very Special Friends

We didn't grow up together,
We didn't start out as friends.
In fact, when we first got together
We didn't like each other then.
But times change, situations change,
Our relationship took a new turn.
After getting to know each other
There was much we both had to learn.
Now when we talk to each other
Lover is never too far away.
Today we're as close as sisters
And I wouldn't have it any other way.
We didn't start out as friends.
In fact, when we first got together
We didn't like each other then.
But times change, situations change,
Our relationship took a new turn.
After getting to know each other
There was much we both had to learn.
Now when we talk to each other
Lover is never too far away.
Today we're as close as sisters
And I wouldn't have it any other way.
