It is said that there are two things that one should never bring up in polite conversation. These two things are politics and religion. There are no two subjects that get people riled up as much as these two subjects. We are unable to understand how a person that we have so much in common with cannot see what we believe is only way to run our government. Politics are so important to us because they hold our core values about the way we believe that life should be. When someone disagrees with us about politics, they are arguing with our beliefs about the way we believe life should be.

Those that do survive often have post traumatic stress disorder. It is clear that this is not the way we were meant to live. After all the devastation that is caused in the field of battle, countries often make the decision to withdraw when they can no longer bear the casualties. War is a curse of mankind. It is a function of the ego's need to assert its superiority even in the face of its own destruction.

Retirement is something that people look forward to all of their lives. It is a lucky few however, that truly get to enjoy their golden years. Factors like health concerns, death of a spouse, and monetary issues are all things that can prevent people from taking full advantage of their retirement years. Enjoy life while you can because you never know what is going to happen later. Those that are lucky enough to really enjoy their "golden years" are truly blessed.
