Funny Life Poem

Funny Poem About Weight Loss Woes

Hi, my name is Alan Balter, and I am a retired university professor. I wrote "The Benefits of Exercise" because I have struggled to lose weight all of my life. I figure I have gained and lost about a thousand pounds as I yoyo up and down. Finally, at age 77, I have once again reached my target weight; still, when I look in the mirror it is not a pretty sight.

"No secret to losing weight," I've been told.

"Get up and about even if it's cold."

But jogging was something senseless to me,
And riding a bike seemed insane.

And lifting weights was a pain.

So for exercise I choose horseback riding.
It's fun and easier than it sounds.
It's a very effective form of dieting
'Cause my horse lost forty pounds.
