Abuse Poem
dedicated to my dad who doesn't even know I exist
Straight Through Me
©
Amanda
when I scream you don't hear
when I hold my breath till my face turns blue you don't care
when I reach you don't see
you look straight through me
you hit me
beat me
curse me
scream at me
molest me
you don't care
I wear a mask
I fake a smile
but you look straight through me
why am I dead to you?
'cause I understand why I'm dead to myself too
I can't even look myself in the eye
know why?
because you look straight through me
when I hold my breath till my face turns blue you don't care
when I reach you don't see
you look straight through me
you hit me
beat me
curse me
scream at me
molest me
you don't care
I wear a mask
I fake a smile
but you look straight through me
why am I dead to you?
'cause I understand why I'm dead to myself too
I can't even look myself in the eye
know why?
because you look straight through me
