He watches me everywhere I go
He is always there
He is one of a kind
He is greater than most
He is over seas

He loves what he does
He is better than the best
He isn't always right
He is always funny
He is awesome
He is talented

He can't kill a deer
He can fix a car
He can't shop for shoes
He can shop for tools
He breaks the rules
He gives up his time

He is my father
He is my friend
He is a hunter
He is a football player
He is a clown
He is my daddy
He is my HERO!!!

  • I wrote this poem my Freshman year of high school when my dad was sent to Iraq and it was published in a book. It's crazy that I found this, I'm writing a speech about my dad in my public speaking class and I couldn't remember the wording of the poem so I used Google to find it and I can't believe that it actually worked.
