Sister Poem

When I was seven my parents got divorced and it was very hard on me. A year later my dad got remarried and I was introduced to my step-sister. we get along, we didn't get along at first but we've been together for 7 years and she has become my very best friend. This is about her.

My Sister

My Sister

Scared and alone,
crying and fighting.
I didnít want it to end,
my family my home,
forever torn apart.

My family changing,
my life rearranging,
never to be the same again,
lost in the dark,
of long forgotten memories.

But now I see the truth,
thatís not what was meant to be.
Iíve found a true friend now,
my sister youíll forever be.

I didn't know then,
as I do now.
My family separated,
to bring you to me.

You've been a friend and ally,
a playmate and pal.
You've been true and caring,
kind and loving.

Iím grateful for your smile,
and your sweet understanding.
I'm grateful for the laughs and
for all the good times.

I'm grateful for you're happiness
and the joy you bring.
Iím grateful for the memories,
of you and me.

Iím sorry I didnít see it before,
what great friends we could be,
but I see it now,
and you're my best friend.

I can tell you anything,
jokes and laughs and more.
I share secrets with you,
and, as far as I know,
you've told me them before.

I thank god for bringing you to me,
youíre my angel,
youíre my sister,
and hopefully forever
you will be....

I am 18 years old and I have a younger sister who is about to turn 15. about 5 years ago our parents were separated. it was hard on us because we were used to having both parents with use. when my dad left my sister and I fought a lot. I never really appreciated her. I wanted to be an only child. now that we have grown I love my little sister more than ever. she is always there for me when I need her and this poem made me think of her.
