Father Poem

Growing up without a father, nothing remains of him but memory.

Gone

© Keyona S. Johnson
I could still smell his cologne,
piercing my little nose,
his touch was rough, but gentle,
his strength was unbearable, but soft.
He left me, He's gone.
But I remain strong,
for we will meet again.
His love is too big to be put into words,
But his love isn't.
Who is he?
He's Daddy, My creator, My father.
The man that helped me enter this wonderful world.
But now he's gone, never to return again
But his words never left my memory,
I was only three,
Bye-Bye KeyKey. You will always be my little KeyKey
He said to me.
Too young to understand the pain of missing a father,
caught up to me,
like a hurricane in the Florida Keys.
But he's gone now,
how I longed to smell his sweet cologne.
My Daddy, My Life, My love...

  • Hello Miss Keyona. I am also a daughter that grew up w/o a father beside me, to guide me & teach me everything that I should know from a father. I am so sad having no father figure in my life. My mom became the mom & dad to us. But I am glad that we have surpassed all the trials in life despite the fact that we only have a mother & no father. Thank you so much for sharing your poem to everyone. I am inspired. Thank you. I will also share this to my teacher & classmates & proudly & gladly acknowledge you as the writer. Great one! Continue it. God bless!
