Sister Poem

A tribute to the magical relationship between sisters. Not time nor space can lesson the bond, forever in each other's heart.

Helen, My Sister My Friend

© Cyndi Moore
Sister, we've been there through life's sorrow and pain
But together we have always endured the strain
We've argued and bickered and made each other mad
But if you weren't my sister, life would be so sad
We've cried till we laughed and laughed till we cried
Sometimes for no reason we didn't even know why
When we're not together our bond is just as strong
Because we are sisters we know when something is wrong
We've whispered our deepest secrets only sisters could share
I love my sister dearly because she really cares
So whether we are together or we are far apart
Helen, you're my sister, my friend and forever in my heart.

  • I really love this poem. It reminds of me and my sister a lot because we live so far apart and are still there for each other. we are only 13 months apart which makes us really close. We are the best of friends and will remain that way until we go on to the next world.

  • I Loved it! It really did show my part of the story too. Sometimes we get mad at each other for no reason!!! :) However, my big sister always makes me smile by acting weird or doing dumb things. My sister is 3 years older than me. Even though we fight a lot, I love her dearly. I also thank God for giving me the best sister in the whole entire world... I thank you for this poem. This made me realize how much I love her.

  • Looking for a poem to send to my sister on her birthday that described our relationship I stumbled across your poem. I couldn't have said it any better than words in this poem. Thank you for being my voice when I didn't have the words to say.

    Thank You,

  • I really love this poem. It fits with my story also. When I was 15 my older sister committed suicide. She was 18 months older than me. That day we had yelled and bickered like normal and then made up saying oh I'm sorry etc.. That day when I came home I found her in our room with her wrists sliced open. Six years later I feel extremely close to her still and often go and sit at her grave talking to her and sometimes it's like she can hear me. Time nor space can separate sisters in life or death.

In my bus I fought with my friends she was there for me she always done my homework .She has done soo many things for me but I didn't do anything for her

  • Hi, this poem summed up the relationship between me and my 2 sisters, sadly our youngest sister recently passed away and we are using it for a reading at her funeral. I hope it's OK but we have changed a couple of the words to we, our, etc. to make it a message to her from both of her sisters, we are making sure to credit the author in the order of service and are so grateful to have found something that says just what we feel.

  • My sister and I have been through so much, we both are trying to have a baby and it was very tough for a while it made our relationship grow as sister's. She finally got pregnant last Oct and expecting her fist in July and I can't be more happy for her. I am still waiting for my little angel to come to me. This has made us So strong mentally and spiritual.
