Father Poem

Poem: A father makes a difficult decision that separates him from his son. He hopes that one day they will be reunited and he can explain why he did what he did.

To My Son

© Misti R. Hofer
Each day that goes by
It gets harder to hold the tears inside
I often wonder if what I did was right
As my heart begins its biggest fight
Comfort comes from all around
But there is no peace to be found
My teary eyes know no rest
You were my first and my best
No one will ever take your place
And I surround myself with your face
In my heart I hope that we will meet again someday
And that you can forgive me for what I did that day.
