On February 18 2008 at 8:49 PM, my nephew Michael was born. My sister had a hard labor the baby was losing oxygen so my sister had a cesarean the first time we went to the hospital we stayed in the waiting room not the best place to sleep the next Monday Michael was born. Now he is 7 months old and growing fast

My Nephew Michael

My nephew is my heart.
he opens doors to rooms
I never knew were there,
Breaks through walls
I don't recall building.
he lights my darkest corners
With the sparkle in his eyes.
My nephew is my soul.
he inspires my wearied spirit
To fly on wings of angels
But while I hold his hand
My feet never leave the ground.
he stills my deepest fears
My nephew is my past.
he writes my history
In his eyes I recognize myself,
Memories only we can share.
he is my best friend
he gives me hope
he lights up my life
my nephew

  • This poem explains exactly how I feel about my nephew. his name is Jacob and he turned year old today. I sat there today wondering where this past year has gone. I love that baby so much I feel as if his is my own child. just knowing that God loved us enough to bless my family with him makes me love him and God even more every day.
