My Sister, My Friend

©

Published by Family Friend Poems May 2008 with permission of the Author.

To me, you are an angel in disguise,
Full of intuition, intelligent and wise,
Always giving and helping me through good times and bad.
You are the best friend I've ever had.

If I had one wish, it would surely be
to give you as much as you've given me.

Though I've put our relationship through some cloudy days,
you've been my sunshine in so many ways.
Through trials and tests, right by me you stood
and gave me your hand whenever you could.

Thank you so much, my sister, my friend.
My gratitude for you has no end...

My sister and I are 15 months apart. She has undoubtedly been one of the best people in my life.

Touching poem. I have six different unique yet lovable sisters. Each one has her own personality but I know no matter what I can depend on them. They are my best friends, supporters, listeners and sometimes my biggest challengers. I know they love me in their own special way as I love them.

Aww I loved this poem! My sister Hannah is my best friend in the world. The poem so said what I think about her, especially the part "I wish I could give back all you've given me..." Hannah, I love you and I am so proud to call you my sister!

My sister was my pal. She was always there for me through the good times and the bad. No matter what life handed us, we had each other. She died in July. I miss not only her presence but her silent strength that she always gave me and the love we shared in the little things day by day.

I, too, lost 2 sisters who were my best friends. I lost them both to cancer, 3 years ago, 10 months apart. I know it is hard. Remember all the wonderful times you had together and be joyful for the time you did have together. Losing my sisters left a hole in my heart that will never be filled. God's love and grace has carried me through one of the worse times in my life. God bless you in your healing. It will take time, but one day you will smile with tears in your eyes as you remember your best friend....Bless you.

I have two wonderful sisters, Jackie, Kimberline and Slamee. They have helped me when I'm in need, when I'm sad or happy. They are there for me, love you so much. Thank you God for my three beautiful Sisters.

I love this poem because I have a best friend named Roxanne we. We're shy when we met she is like my sister and I love her. She sticks up for me and I stick up for her. That's why she is my best friend and sister.

I have had many best friends and friends, but most of them just ditched me and went off for someone else, someone better, leaving me to wonder what I did wrong. Now, at least, I have a friend, the new girl, who told me the truth. She befriended me even though I have basically no reputation, I am known as the "poor shy girl who has no friends and can barely talk," and it is true, though if anyone just looked past looks and my somewhat dismal personality, and actually got to know me, spent time with me, they would find out that I am actually pretty outgoing. She befriended me even though I could give her nothing except my friendship, even though everybody hates me, the girl famous for her shyness, the girl who gets all the pitying looks and "I'm sorries." Even though everybody would hate her too because of that. Nobody bothers about me; I'm just a spare piece in a puzzle that will fit nowhere, an extra, somebody that no one truly cares about. At least I have a friend now. <3

Yes, this poem touched me so much because it literally expresses my relationship with my late sister friend Shimaa. I give her these words. May Allah have mercy on her.

This poem is really wonderful. I have a best friend who's really cool, we share secrets together. Sometimes, we forget we are best friends and we act like we're sisters.

This poem is so beautiful. I only wished that I had been blessed to have a Sister to hold a special bond as you must have with your Sister. Love her forever.
