Moving On Poem after Death

Time To Move On Poem

I haven't had any major losses in my family, but I have people around me who have. My great uncle and aunt have both passed away, and it has effected my grandfather. I wrote this because I was thinking about how people have to accept the fact that death is all around us.

High Above

High above all else, I sore with the wind
I fly with the birds
and sleep with the stars.

High above all else, I see my dear family crying
I feel the pain of loss
the sharp sting of sadness.

High above all else, I see you
I fall to the ground
I fall back to my current reality.

High above all else, you soar with the wind
you fly with the birds
and fall with the rain
smile with the sun
and sleep with the stars.

High above all else, I realize that you are really gone
that you are in a better place,
so now it is time for me to let go,
time to move on.
