Loss Poem

On May 31 2008, we (the children) lost our daddy, only to find out within days our mommy had cancer, and that she was going to be leaving us here on earth too. So as I moved back to WV from TX to be with her in her final days and help take care of her, I was sitting at kitchen table and started writing... Then My mother passed on Nov 8th 2008.. same year... so then my nephew took my poem and made a song out of it.. My mother and daddy was two great parents of 10 children. we miss them so much

Hug And Kiss Daddy

© Pamela Holland
I know your about to leave us,
and go to a wonderful place.
You'll see so many beautiful things
especially one very familiar face.
When you're looking around
enjoying all the glory,
please pay very close attention
so you can tell him this story.
Tell him how we loved you,
and did our very best.
Although we all thought we failed,
we believe we passed his test.
We never have forgot him,
and remember all he said.
all the things he taught us
still running through our heads.
THE LOVE, THE PASSION AND CARING,
he put in all our hearts,
still as strong as ever,
until our time to part.
Yes, we will miss you like crazy,
and we don't want you to go ,
but that's another lesson in life
he has taught us as we grow.
Just remember to tell him
we love and miss him so badly,
and from each one of us his kids,
PLEASE HUG AND KISS OUR DADDY!!!

  • Yes, this poem did touch me and it touched me the day she wrote it! You see this beautiful poem was written by my wonderful little sister! She was able to put into words on paper what we all were feeling! It touched each and every one of our hearts and souls! Our nephew made it into a song which only enhanced it's beauty and feeling that much more! Pamela is a wonderful poet who knows how to express what she if feeling into the most amazing play of words! She is a gift to all and a blessing to me! She is my sister, my inspiration, and most of all MY FRIEND!!!
