Sorry but ...

I'm sorry you had to leave; this was not my fault,
I'm sorry I never told you how I really felt,
I'm sorry you haven't seen your grandchildren grow,
Oh, how they've grown!
I'm sorry you felt compelled to miss my big day,
I looked around the church for you, but sorry dad, you weren't there,
I've cried a lot about you over the years,
But sorry dad, I'll cry no more
Hope you're well, but sorry dad, I'll never know
