About Pat Fleming

Started writing at an early age and kept journals over the years. After retiring in 2016, wrote primarily poetry every day. This site is the best of all and I am still so grateful to have found it. There are some immensely talented writers on here.
I have not been writing quite as often lately but I keep my hand in it. My other hobbies include coloring, I'm addicted, and reading, swimming in the ocean and kayaking. I love words and water! I have lived in NJ my whole life and still live there with my husband and my 5th rescued cat, Sammy.

On December 8, 2023, Austin Macauley Publishers released my first book of poetry. It is entitled, "Being Human In This Crazy World" by Patricia Fleming. It can be found online on many book seller sites all over the world. Just Google the title and author and you will find all the locations. It would be a tremendous honor if my peers and fellow poets would read my book and don't be afraid to let me know what you really think.

Another great poem. I've had depression, but not quite as bad. However, it's great that you can write about it, as I'm sure it will connect with many people who know exactly what you are...

Wow, I read your words slowly and my heart actually started to ache. So sad and your words expressed what so many of us have endured in recent years. Beautiful, touching, and powerful indeed!

I can remember those lovely summer vacations with all my neighborhood friends, soaking in my 2-foot pool, riding bikes, sitting by the river, playing wiffle and kick ball on my street and the evenings playing till the sun went down and I heard my Mom calling me in. Such wonderful memories your perfect words conjured in my mind and heart.

Oh Ann, my heart goes out to you. I can only imagine the pain you must be in. Having a lifelong love is such a blessing but watching them be sick would be a torture. I feel stupid trying to give you advice because it would sound so phony. But I can tell by your loyal comments that you are a giving, caring human being, so how lucky he is to have you by his side. Of course, you would probably say the same about him. Whatever you're feeling now, feel it completely and unashamedly. You will make it through this somehow. Please know that I will keep you close to my heart and in my thoughts. If you need anyone to talk to, just PM me on Facebook. Take care.
Sincerely,
Pat F.

Dear Angie,
I should have responded much sooner to your beautiful comment about my poem. I am so thrilled that you could completely relate to my words and then share them with others to help them understand my message as well. I wrote this poem one day after my hands had been bothering me and I was looking at them and thinking how ugly they were. I feel ashamed of them in front of people. But while writing this, I realized instead they were a badge of honor, and I would start looking at them that way and remembering the wonderful years of my life so far. Thank you for even taking the time to read my poem. We women should stick together because we are pretty darn amazing! -Pat F.

Ann, all of your work is so special, amazing, and creative. I am so jealous at how you can convey a deep, powerful message in so few words. I tend to ramble on and on, and I literally can't stop myself. I believe a truly good poet is a wordsmith and should be able to express their message in few words, before the reader gets bored, which is my weak point. You are really an amazing poet. You should make a book out of your work because people really like shorter poems, and you can give them really gorgeous poetry and in a short form. I'm going to make a point of reading all of your work.
