To My Grandpa

Who would have thought you would go so soon?
With you being gone, my life has so much gloom.
I hate the fact you've gone away, but in my
Heart, I know you'll stay.
You taught me right, you taught me wrong.
And with this knowledge I must go on.
With hurt and pain in my heart,
I do know that we'll never be apart.
You made me laugh, you made me cry.
With those moments, I will make it by and by.
You are gone, this I see,
And I know you're in heaven watching down on me.
I love you, Papa, and I always will,
But losing you is a great big deal.
The suffering has ended and you've gone home.
To sit with our Father on his throne.

I'm sorry for your loss! My Pawpaw passed away Jan. 6, 2012, unexpectedly! It was a shock, because my Dad and Aunt had seen him the day before and he looked fine to them! We were going to go see him after our vacation, because he hadn't seen us in over a week. But my oldest got sick and she had to be put in the hospital, the very same day we put her in, not even an hour later, my Aunt called me and told me to get my Dad that he wasn't breathing! I will never forget the day of Jan. 6, 2012, nor will I forget the memories My girl's family and I shared with my Grandfather.

I can relate to that poem. my grandpa died three days before my birthday. he was my bestfriend and I will always miss him so much. It has been 7 years since then but the hurt and anger never goes away.
