Creating A Lasting Bond With Loved Ones

in Christmas Poems

If I had one Christmas wish
For family and friends this year,
We would take the opportunity to strengthen values and beliefs
We hold so dear.

We would make time to sit at the table,
Break bread with those we love,
Fold our hands and bow our head,
Giving thanks to our Father above.

Read a book to the children,
Try to make the moments last.
Talk to them about family traditions,
Connecting with members of family past.

We would indulge in enjoyable stories,
Talk about our role models that paved the way,
Take comfort in the traditions that bring us together,
Creating a lasting bond, forever and a day.

I didn't leave you alone, Dad.
I stayed close to your bedside.
I held your hand and talked to you.
You were waiting to join your bride.

We talked about our Savior,
about heaven and pearly gates,
trying to imagine all the glory
that for us awaits.

I can't begin to imagine
a life without my dad.
Tears mixed with memories.
How long will I be sad?

You always wore God's armor.
You gave us all your best.
A mighty warrior for our Lord.
Be at peace, Dad; it's time to rest.

I will be okay, Dad. I'm your daughter.
I wield a mighty sword.
I'm armed with what you taught me,

The walls echo with sounds of laughter,
The decor shows signs of wear.
Warmth emits from every room,

Beautiful tribute to your mom! You were blessed with a strong mom who taught you values. Your words remind me of my mom. I miss her every day. It will be 1 year next month since she left us to go to her heavenly home. I carry her love with me, my values, and my love for God. Thank you for sharing!

Kenneth, I am so sorry for your loss, I know how difficult the loss of a mother is. How blessed your mom was to be surrounded by her family, and to reach out to each one! Reading your words reminds me so much of my mom and her journey. Knowing my poem has helped you is the greatest compliment I could receive. Thank you.

Yes, Brandy, you may share and read my poem at your dear mom's funeral. I am so sorry for your loss. It is very difficult and painful to lose your mom. I miss my mom every day. She will be gone 9 months on the 16th. Stay strong. Your mom will always be with you.
