Trusting Fool

Am I just a fool, trusting in your words?
I'm really not stupid,  I would just rather be seen than heard.

I showed you every part of me. Ugly, good or bad. Love
I have come to regret, like the love for me you never had.

I honestly believed in us, that we fit like ying and yang.
But I see now that I was wrong, when you only look at me with disgust and shame.

I gave my heart to you for you to hold, now it's broken into two.
I don't want it back, you can keep it. It has no purpose if I can't be with you.

I can identify with the poem, as I once loved a man who was nothing but a lair and opportunist.

I might have gotten through the heartbreak but never gotten over the heartbreak and how I was foolish not to see through his fake love for me.

This is a great and heartfelt poem.
