    Empty net being taken away,
hauled in upon the boat in the bay,
no fish left in the waters they say.
    Beautiful day.

  • My Little Seed

    • Published: July 2023

    in Hope Poems

I had a little seed that I had found upon the ground,
I kept it in my pocket where it was safe and sound.
What may it be, this tiny little seed, now tucked inside my cloak,
could it be a sugar maple, or perhaps a mighty oak?

  • Them Bugs!

    • Published: July 2023

    in Nature Poems for Kids

    Creepy crawly in the night,
    yes, the night - a bug's delight!
Whether quick or slow across the floor,
-please go away, do stay no more!

  • Withered

A poem I composed based on Jesus' Sermon on the Mount.

Particularly Matthew chapter 6:30, 31, where Jesus said in part,

"If, now, God clothes the vegetation of the field... will he not much rather clothe you...?
So never be anxious and say, 'What are we to eat?' or 'What are we to drink'? or 'What are we to wear'?
For your heavenly Father knows you need all these things."

    The low little weed
    it's leaves wide and broad,
    in meek earnest prayer
    made petition to God...

  • Washed Ashore

This poem paints a before and after picture of what the worlds beaches - and by extension, the environment as a whole, - used to be like not so long ago, and what they have become over a relatively short period of time.
More importantly, what will earths beaches be like in the coming years? Will the situation improve?
    What do you think?

In a time not that long ago
    during days of yonder lore,
the ocean waves would spend their days
    washing up pretty things ashore.

  • The Gilded Door

    • Published: June 2024

    in Fantasy Poems

He passes by a certain place each day,
on the side of the road along his way.
"A quite peculiar kind of place," he'd say...
"No windows, just a gilded door, -

  • A Visit To The Zoo

We often perceive the natural world from our point of view.
But have we ever wondered how the natural world perceives us as humans?
What if the tables were turned?
This humorous poem paints such a picture.

I was sitting in the kitchen,
    peering out the window glass,
when with my eye I suddenly spied,
    a fox upon the grass.

  • My Beautiful Tree

A tree is a beautiful thing. Not only are they beautiful but they're also industrious. They provide us with the oxygen that sustains our life. They provide us with food to eat, shade on a hot summer day, lumber to build the homes we live in, and an array of colors in the fall that would make any artist absolutely jealous. Do you have a favorite kind of tree? Have you ever planted a sapling and watched it grow? If so, I'm sure you can probably relate to this poem.

Oh, my tree! How I do love thee.
I simply abound in utter sheer glee, whenever I look upon my beautiful tree,
from my window, in the bright morning light, as I savor my coffee and brie.
At you I gaze, and daydream, that like you, I truly wish I could be,
