    Empty net being taken away,
hauled in upon the boat in the bay,
no fish left in the waters they say.
    Beautiful day.

  • My Little Seed

    • Published: July 19, 2023

    in Hope Poems

I had a little seed that I had found upon the ground,
I kept it in my pocket where it was safe and sound.
What may it be, this tiny little seed, now tucked inside my cloak,
could it be a sugar maple, or perhaps a mighty oak?

  • Them Bugs!

    Creepy crawly in the night,
    yes, the night - a bug's delight!
Whether quick or slow across the floor,
-please go away, do stay no more!

  • Withered

A poem I composed based on Jesus' Sermon on the Mount.

Particularly Matthew chapter 6:30, 31, where Jesus said in part,

"If, now, God clothes the vegetation of the field... will he not much rather clothe you...?
So never be anxious and say, 'What are we to eat?' or 'What are we to drink'? or 'What are we to wear'?
For your heavenly Father knows you need all these things."

    The low little weed
    it's leaves wide and broad,
    in meek earnest prayer
    made petition to God...

  • Arranging My Posy With Flowers For You-

A spontaneous act of kindness, love or concern for others who may be experiencing trying times in their life, can accomplish much good, bringing them comfort, hope and a reason to endure.
Even a kind genuine smile can lift up a persons spirit.
I arranged this poem based on a real life experience I had... an opportunity to make someone's life a little more brighter.

A few lovely roses, carnations, daisies too.
A special bouquet made with love that is true,
For my friend in the park, on the bench, feeling blue.
Although I never met you, and know your name not I do,

  • Washed Ashore

This poem paints a before and after picture of what the worlds beaches - and by extension, the environment as a whole, - used to be like not so long ago, and what they have become over a relatively short period of time.
More importantly, what will earths beaches be like in the coming years? Will the situation improve?
    What do you think?

In a time not that long ago
    during days of yonder lore,
the ocean waves would spend their days
    washing up pretty things ashore.

  • Here To Stay?

As the world continues in its effort to fight climate change and the causes thereof, we may wonder at times whether we are actually winning the battle or not, as this poem realistically suggests.

    having their say...

"Let's fight climate change, end it today!"

  • The Gilded Door

    in Fantasy Poems

He passes by a certain place each day,
on the side of the road along his way.
"A quite peculiar kind of place," he'd say...
"No windows, just a gilded door, -

  • A Visit To The Zoo

We often perceive the natural world from our point of view.
But have we ever wondered how the natural world perceives us as humans?
What if the tables were turned?
This humorous poem paints such a picture.

I was sitting in the kitchen,
    peering out the window glass,
when with my eye I suddenly spied,
    a fox upon the grass.
