You're Still Near
in Grandmother Death Poems
Thinking of you while rocking in your chair,
'Bout the moments in life when you were there.
It's the year of firsts since you've been gone,
Each day is another one that begins at dawn....

Carol,
Take you for your kind comment about this poem. I never wrote poetry before my grandmother "Grams" went home in January 2012, but have woken up many times over the past 4 years...
She hugs and kisses her loved ones at Heaven's gate,
Then shares with them the joy of her new found fate.
She goes on and on about the ones she left behind,
It's going to take a while, because she was Grams to all mankind.
