Behind my colourful masks
I hide my emotions so well
You may never know if there's a smile or tear
That Only time will tell

Behind my colourful mask
I hide my tears that fall
People think they know me so well
Well, I don't think they understand me at all!!

Behind my colourful mask I quietly dwell
All my feelings and thoughts
I keep changing my masks too,
Coz  I'm so good at hiding my emotions from you

Behind my colourful mask ,
I get quiet when you hurt me
I can smile when I'm in pain
I can cry when I'm happy
It's just how you want me to explain

Behind my colourful mask
I don't think you fathom how uneasy I can be
So I keep changing them
For the situations and people who confront me

There are at times when I wear no mask
I try to manifest my true self
Then the world seems different
I get confused myself

We all wear masks
And change it quite often too
We are still judged and misunderstood
It's so tough to be just and just you

Behind my colourful mask , I have my own life
I'm a mother
I'm a daughter
I'm a cook and
I'm a wife

I'm a nurse
I'm a driver
I'm a best friend and
I'm a planner 

Somewhere behind this colourful mask
I've lost myself again
I busy pleasing everyone
Alas! It's my loss and their gain
