About Carol A. Andrews

I love reading other people’s poems especially when I feel connected with the writer. It is really good to see young people enjoying poetry. There would be less madness in this world if more people could express how they feel in a safe place. This looks like a safe place to me after having read some poetry submissions and comments.
I’m 68 and have dabbled in rhymes since I was a teenager. Often writing humorous longer poems for friends birthdays. I get a laugh sometimes.
Writing poetry helps me. It helps me get my thinking right and helps me come to terms with difficult life situations. Sometimes happy, sometimes sad, sometimes just off the spectrum of reason. I’m hoping for responses from others to affirm my words and let me know I’m not going crazy ( or perhaps I am). Sorry I don’t mean to sound arrogant or stuffy..

  • Angels Of Hope

    I wrote this short poem for a poet friend of mine who was going through a sad time, in the hope she would find some comfort in knowing that there were people around her who cared.

    Today was born into a damp mist
    That beckoned her down to the river.
    The sun struggled it's best to break through the haze;
    A wind blew a spine tingling shiver.

    For another called to me.

Liz, thank you for your kind comments. I am truly blessed. Proverbs 18:10: "The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe" is my inspiration for this verse.
May God bless you and those you love,
Carol
