It was seven lonely months ago
that you said your last goodbye,
the angels took you in their arms
and I was left alone to cry.

I met you oh so long ago
way back in the distant past,
you grew to be my soul mate
up until you breathed your last.

Our marriage lasted forty years
with many ups and downs,
but no matter what life threw at us
our love, it knew no bounds.

But the days are long and empty now
without you by my side,
the memories are all that's left
and the grief I cannot hide.

so I hope that you're at peace now
no more suffering and pain,
and you'll always be within my heart
up until we meet again.

This verse is but a token
to express just how I feel
for showing me a friendship
that's solid, true and real.

So many people in your life
pretend to be your friend
but I know that you are genuine
from the beginning to the end.

Your acquaintances may be many
but true friends, they are few
so I hope you know and realise
that I'm always there for you

We've laughed when we were happy
and cried when we were sad
so we celebrate the good times
and commiserate the bad.

And if your life has hit rock bottom
and you're feeling all alone
I'm only just a call away
so please pick up the phone.

The advent of a new birth
Brings such joy to those around,
It's the onset of a new life
And a miracle so profound.

All newborns should be nurtured
From the day they first arrive,
From a fragile new beginning
They need care to help them thrive.

To face the trials and tribulations
That life chooses to bestow,
Be it human, plant or animal
They all need help to grow.

The propagation of the species
Is so essential to survive,
The gift of life so precious
Of which no person should deprive.

So if you're caring for a new-born
Give them all the love they need,
For many a famous person
Came from a nurtured seed.

Winter time is here again, the trees are all but bare
It's time to don the scarves and boots, & warmer things to wear.
Bikinis, shorts and summer tops, have all been packed away
They won't see the light again, till next year's summer's day.

The kids get all excited at this special time of year
They know that Santa's coming, that's when presents will appear.
Dress the Christmas trees with baubles, put the fairy on the top
Go & look at all the festive lights, as you do the Christmas shop.

The air outside gets colder, and the snow is all around
The animals all hibernate, some beneath the frozen ground.
The birds fly South for winter, they go to find a warmer place
But the robin, he remains here, he puts a smile upon our face.

Now winter time is beautiful, it's crisp and clean, but cold
And when there's frost and Ice about, it's scary for the old.
Trying to walk on icy pavements, when conditions get this grim
The chance of falling just increases, you could easily break a limb.

And when the winter brings us Christmas, with all its festive chest
Time to celebrate the season, maybe have ourselves a beer.
The family gets together, for the annual Christmas lunch
It's the only time you see them, altogether as a bunch.
