About Patricia Fleming

Started writing at an early age and kept journals over the years. After retiring in 2016, wrote primarily poetry every day. This site is the best of all and I am still so grateful to have found it. There are some immensely talented writers on here.
I have not been writing quite as often lately but I keep my hand in it. My other hobbies include coloring, I'm addicted, and reading, swimming in the ocean and kayaking. I love words and water! I have lived in NJ my whole life and still live there with my husband and my 5th rescued cat, Sammy.

On December 8, 2023, Austin Macauley Publishers released my first book of poetry. It is entitled, "Being Human In This Crazy World" by Patricia Fleming. It can be found online on many book seller sites all over the world. Just Google the title and author and you will find all the locations. It would be a tremendous honor if my peers and fellow poets would read my book and don't be afraid to let me know what you really think.

Thank you, Paul, for taking the time to read my poem and for your kind compliment. I agree with your thoughts about this world. Sometimes people are so self-absorbed and superficial that there is nowhere to go to really talk about our fears and feelings. That's where I depend on my poetry to release my thoughts and feelings. Thank God there are people like you out there who take the time to really think and deeply care.

You are a brave girl, Janna, and I am so proud of how you fought those feelings and reached out for help, which is not easy sometimes. God will always use people to help us, just as he did your Church Pastor. God did that for you because he loves you and has a great plan for you, something that only you can do for Him. You are sweet for reading my poem and letting me know it helped you. I will keep you in my prayers, and remember you are very special and important to God. Don't ever give up because that would be a terrible loss to this world. You take good care of yourself!

This is a wonderful poem that really provides such a descriptive insight into what a person suffering from mental illness endures. I love the rhythm and rhyme of your poems and the simplicity with which you express yourself. I had to read the rest of your poetry because I liked this one so much and you have a truly amazing talent. I love the form of your poems, and each one tells a different story in that simplistic but truly powerful way that clearly expresses that particular feeling. I look forward to reading your other work.

I am so sorry for what you have been through, but your wife's need to go in another direction does not diminish who you are and what you have to offer as a person. Getting old stinks, but desperately trying to keep the inevitable from happening is a tiresome and fruitless effort. Let your wife do that. You accept who you are and be proud of who you are because of your age. You gave the world 4 wonderful human beings, and that is no easy task. Let your wife go and maintain the dignity of what your experience in life has given you. Don't be angry or bitter. We've been through enough. It's time to give ourselves the right to relax and let it all go. That's a good thing!
