I once was a fisherman
engaged in an enthralling
allure, little did I even know
that this battle was to be a fight 
which would alter a hemisphere.

The side of my brain which emotion
had held so close shifted as plates
do when encountered by a mighty
rift, a simple catch any man would
be well pleased to reel in, turned out
to be more than I could have dreamt.

The bait I laid within the waters was
quite something else for teeth to sink
in, tantalizing even the choosiest of lovers.
So to no surprise this specimen differed from all the others.

At first sight I knew I wanted her more than fresh prey to a group of startled piranha's.
Though no matter how much I tried, efforts rode broke as heartstrings were ripped off.

I love you the way the sun loves the earth,
with warmth of every feeling it has birth,
growing flowers within you, you deserve,
planting a kiss gently upon your surfaces.
Though rhythm of our affection may dry
with devotion I'll never desert your cry
for I'll continually be the light of your life.

I can not stand to gaze at
what lies adjacent to me,
jumping out of it's skin
to pierce without a sorry.

Though blessing need not
to give a word of apology,
offense is taken solemnly.

Hurt shadowed circuitry
so how can I stand to see
brightness shine lovingly
if emotion esclipes poetry.

Radiance is given willingly
and all I have as an offering
are shards dipped in misery

I used to think
that having it
altogether is key
but than I realized
happiness is what
opens doors for me
