Poem For A Sister-In-Law

This poem is dedicated to my sister-in-law, my brother's second wife. When we were first introduced, we took an instant dislike to each other. We were estranged for several years, yet we tried to be civil when the family got together. She developed MS and suddenly our differences didn't seem to be important. After we discussed our differences, we became close. Today, we talk on a regular basis. She calls me the sister she never had. And I am honored to have that position.

We didn't grow up together.
We didn't start out as friends.
In fact, when we first got together,
We didn't like each other then.

But times change, situations change,
Our relationship took a new turn.
After getting to know each other,
There was much we both had to learn.

Now when we talk to each other,
Lover is never too far away.
Today we're as close as sisters,
And I wouldn't have it any other way.

1 of my brothers brought his girl friend to Church, and that's where we met before the service was starting as everyone was getting seated, and my brother had introduced her to my siblings and Dad and I, (My Mom couldn't be there that Sunday ), so after we met her, I liked her alright, but till I got to know her more and more and once we talked and she came over for a visit or something like that, I started loving her so much and now, I call her my best friend, even though I've only known her for 7 months.
My brother married her in the beginning of this Month.
She is a really fun girl, and Very very sweet.
I love her so much, and would never ask for a better sister-in-law than her!!
