Unnoticed now, will somehow find its way

Efforts seem not to pay to plan?
Forge on friend, doing the best you can.

Anyone can spot others' flaws.
It's easy, like a blink of the eyes.

It's not so easy....

Anyone can spot others' flaws.
It's easy, like a blink of the eyes.
Doing better is noting ours because
That's where the challenge lies.

Anyone can share what they got right,
For that will flow like a song.
To do better is to try being forthright
About the things we got wrong.

Everyone enjoys praise and acclaim;
It surely is a piece of cake.
But doing better is not shifting blame
When it's really ours to take.

Anyone can be cheerful and bright;
That's after a win of course.
To do better is to be nice and polite,
Even after suffering a loss.

While the usual is easy to find,
Noble things are sometimes hard to do.
Like being honest, humble and kind,
But are due in me and you.

How close a virtue and vice can be,
Yet the borderline of the two
Should we respect in all we do.

Being frank without a little tact
Can turn to rudeness after the fact.
Being brave may be a step away
From foolhardiness any given day.

When suspicion becomes routine
Paranoia is sure to settle in.
And when making humility a show
Pride readily begins to grow.

Where gentleness lacks a bit of nerve
Weakness is what others observe.
And where self-confidence is found
Arrogance often lurks around.

It's a borderline hard to tread
And plunges tend to lie ahead,
But it's by heeding moderation's call
That we can safely avoid a fall.

As I daily follow you.
This journey before me,
You alone can see me through.

The distractions emerging
Around, almost every day...
They're subtle and compelling,
I'm sometimes prone to stray.

There's much I don't know,
And the road ahead seems long.
All my hope is in you;
I confess I'm not strong.

I'll need your gentle tug,
When my focus seems to shift.
Grant me your healing word
When I need a happy lift.

Hold my hand, lead me, Lord
In that path straight and true.
Help me to fix my eyes

Focus on self only makes
the world a dreary place to live.
But you make it a brighter scene
when you find a way to give.

Share with random strangers,
not only those you know.
It's by practicing such kindness
God's love in you will glow.

Be sure to give to people
who have no means to repay.
Such will always return to you
in the most unexpected way.

Practice giving to friends,
if only to make them smile.
Doesn't matter if they have it all.
It is a gesture worthwhile.

Be generous with your folks.
Kindness to outsiders alone;
Just how hollow would it be?
For charity begins at home.

Leave a gift for someone
who won't find out it's from you.
Directing all the glory to God
makes giving pure and true.

When you find a way to give,
you sow seeds of joy around.
You leave behind a scent of hope
and make the light of love abound.
