My spirit's been hurt
So deeply by your actions.
It literally turned me off
To all other attractions.

You were the one who
Broke down my wall,
Opened my heart to love
Not just to you, but to all.

On a pedestal
I held you up; you
Were what made me live
And never to give up.

What a fool I've become
To trust you to love me
How blind I was, how
Couldn't I see?

You were my world or
So it seemed,
When my eyes are closed
In my dreams.

I have been seeing or was seeing the same man for 6 years. we always had friends staying with us as we couldn't turn them away. my best friend of "20" years my "SISTER" I moved in because she was going through a divorce. little did I know she had also been seeing my boyfriend for at least 6 months I feel like such a fool and the bad thing is I don't care about the man. The friendship has broken my heart you just can't trust anyone anymore it' been 4 months and I'm still grieving. any advice?

Well, this poem is great in relation to the novel the Great Gatsby, and King Lear. I used this poem to apply it both the stories, and I will do a presentation on this soon. Thanks Loretta, and now you will be more popular because I will be doing an analysis of your poem

This is one of the best poems I've read ever! It gets to the point and it something that she wants and is telling the world that it rarely comes true.
