A whispered breath
and then your soul
flew, silent and swift,
like a passing owl.

Away from pain
and muddled brain,
now free to join
lost loved ones again.

The memories stay,
your love, your smile,
part of our lives
for a long, long while.

Why did you have to go away
and leave me with a broken heart.
I prayed and prayed that you would stay,
why did you have to go away.
Now every day is dark and grey,
I never thought we'd be apart.
Why did you have to go away

I heard your voice,
I saw you grin,
I tasted your lips,
I breathed you in,
I held you close,
I touched your skin.

My sixth sense said,
"I’ll marry him."
