Falling In Love

Learning about poetry, I was taught to use all the senses as much as possible. This extremely short poem uses all the senses, plus one, and perfectly describes how I felt when I first met my future husband.

I hear your voice,
I see you grin,
I taste your lips,
I breathe you in,
I hold you close,
I touch your skin.

My sixth sense says,
"I’ll marry him."

ABOUT THE POET:

Ann D. Stevenson only began writing after she retired, when she joined a Writing for Well-Being course. It was during a difficult time, as her husband had recently been diagnosed with cancer. She discovered that she really enjoyed writing, especially poetry. It was a real boost to her morale when Family Friend Poems began publishing her poems....
