About Raelene J. Elliss

Many years ago, Raelene J. Elliss’ brother passed away in a drowning accident at a popular surf beach in South Australia. Her heart was broken, and the strain of the grief was unbearable. She had no idea how to express her feelings about that tragic loss.
One very warm evening, as she lay awake, unable to sleep due to the worry in her life, she wrote down her feelings on a scrap of paper. Out of that scrawling came her first poem. That was in 1986, and now more than 30 years down the track, Raelene has written more than 200 poems. They have mainly been for her family in celebration of milestones, birthdays, and Christmas.
She developed a knack for picking up a word, phrase, or very funny situation that would inspire a poem. She calls herself the Poetic Rambler and signs her poems as such. Raelene hopes that her poems bring joy and inspiration to whoever reads them.

  • GROWING INTO FAITH

I've often wondered how I would live my life without God.
    Truth is I couldn't and now wouldn't.
Once tried to and failed dismally to keep it all together.
God had such amazing love for us and me the sinner fist class.
I've mucked it up many a time, with my useless plans.
God however wrote the book for me and you ,so it's best to follow the word .
Growing with God in faith like a mustard seed is what i'm saying in my little verse.

Faith is like a mustard seed
    It's frail and it's weak
    Planted in his mission field
    It's majesty we seek

  • THREE DAYS

An incredible event that changed the world, by a man who walked amongst sinners.
He showed a great love, healing , and a way to live.
THe resurrection is the single most important thing in my christian faith.
Jesus died on the cross in the most brutal manner possible.
He rose again and freed me of my sins, by simply believing in him.

  • PRAYERS OF FRAIL FAITH

We pray for an immediate answer, a quick fix.
God hears our prayers and answers them in time and over time.
His response is a slow travelling of the plan he has for us.
Our impatience leads us to think that God is deaf.

Giving feedback on published poems is much more fun than trying to scroll through them looking for gems like this. Well done. Love it! Great rhyming. I can picture this as a children's book with fantastic illustrations.

Brilliant! Everyone needs a mum and a kiss and their bear. I used to have a little dolly that scared away the monsters. Love your work. Excellent stuff.

My wordy, wordy, brilliantly penned. I can picture this as an illustrated children's book. Worthy indeed. Find a publisher ASAP.
