Short Memorial Day Poem

My dad and I were talking about the meaning of Memorial Day. I thought about all the people who gave their lives and left their families. I thought my poem might make a soldier and a veteran know that I care.

Remember those who served before.
Remember those who are no more.
Remember those who serve today.
Remember them as we eat and play.
Remember our protectors-
who are not home today.
Remember them all on Memorial Day.
