Lifetime Friends

I wrote this in remembrance of my best friend. She had cancer and went into remission three times, the first time when she was 18. She fought hard but finally lost the battle.

Side By Side Or Miles Apart

The years have passed,
More than a few,
We're still dear friends,
Me and you.

From grade school days,
Through good and bad,
We've shared a bond,
Like none I've had.

Life's taken us
Both here and there,
But we've hung tight,
With love to spare.

You hold a place
Deep in my heart,
Whether side by side,
Or miles apart!
