I wished on a star
For a grandma like you
Who hugs me and hugs me,
Whatever I do.
When I am a bad girl,
You still love me more.
I will be a basketball player;
Watch me soar.
When I am playing on the court,
It feels like you jumped in to my heart.
When I am at school, I think about you
And all the good times I spent with you.
When I am running around the track,
It feels like someone is pushing at my back,
And at the end of my race I wonder
Where that came from.
Gee, I wonder.
Of all the grandmas in the world,
I thank God that I had you.

Standing over her grave today,
I feel her around me on this warm sunny day.
I love you a lot.
I can't say goodbye .
You just wait, I'll learn how to fly.
