All I had ever wanted
And what I prayed for every night
Now that it's here
Not a single hope in sight.

I wake up every morning
And take a big deep breath
Is this nightmare really over
Will all the fights be layed to rest?

I tried to focus on the good times
The days we were in love
But all the good times now are gone
And replaced of all what was.

This house is full of memories
All the pictures on these walls
A time before remembered
Before you threw away it all.

I know I said I forgave you
And at the time, I thought I had
But that day is stuck on repeat
Was she worth the life you had?

A shattered heart and a painful memory
Is now what you've given me
A far cry from our marriage vows
To love, honor, and cherish thee.

Every fight leads us back in time
About the trash you left me for
You could never understand my dear
I fell apart and hit the floor.

I really tried to start all over
But a past I would recall
Dear God, this pain that I still carry
Heartbreak echoes through these walls.

It may appear that my life is full
But I'm still very much alone
Do you notice I'm not really here
And now my love for you is gone.

Spent years trying to trick my mind
But it was my heart I had to convince
To love a man through all of that
Truth is...I've not felt the same way since.

Now we lay you down to sleep.
Our baby boy's soul to keep.
We pray you feel how much you're loved.
So many hearts you've surely touched.

You've had our hearts from day one.
A blessing above to be given a son.
I'd hoped to cradle you and rock you fast asleep,
Holding you so close feeling every single heartbeat.

To hear your first sweet words or watch that first step,
Playing peek-a-boo with you, our hearts would surely melt.
For this is not goodbye; God has promised this to me.
You will always be our baby, and in our hearts you'll always be.

For our sweet baby boy, today you've gained your wings.
As we hand you back to God, we can hear those angels sing.
Heaven will be waiting for you, and until that day you greet us,
Our baby you'll always be; letting go unto the arms of Jesus.

Long days and windy roads
We choose the path we take
While searching for a bitter truth
I hit my knees to pray.

God gave this life to me
I'm learning as I go
Destined fate and blind to see
He's with me, this I know.

All mistakes, let them go
It's toxic, can't you see
Let them all be lessons
New beginnings set you free.

I can't do this all alone, you see
For Jesus is always with me
Step for step, hand in hand
By my side is where he'll be.

Be the good that's inside you
A bitter heart won't cut it
For people that wanna hurt you
Walk away and rise above it.
