Missing You Poem about Friends

Teeling A Friend You Are Worried About Them

I wrote this poem after I wrote to a dear friend to tell her I was concerned about her. I had to be straight with her without hurting her feelings, and this was hard.

Pen and paper are my tools
To tell you "good job" or to call you a fool.
My praises aren't just given, they are earned.
Mistakes don't just happen, they are learned.
My pen may cut like a knife, but in the end,
Only you can make yourself my friend.
So as I write, carving out my craft,
You may feel cold and it is my words that bring the draft.
Please keep in mind it is not my intention to harm.
I don't want you to sound the alarm.
Perhaps it is my concern for you that keeps us all afloat,
On peaceful waters in a leaking boat.
