I choose the thoughts I want to think
I choose the drinks I want to drink
I choose the games I want to play
I choose my habits every day
I choose the clothes I want to wear
I choose the colour of my hair
I choose to disregard, or care
I choose to ruin, or repair
I choose the causes I pursue
I choose the comments that I view
I choose my patience in the queue
I choose the things I love to do
I choose which problem to ignore
I choose the places I explore
I choose to see work as a chore
Or choose to aim for something more
I choose to leave or choose to stay
I choose to hurry or delay
Nobody forces me to sing
I choose my words
And here's the thing:
My words could hurt -
My words can heal;
My self respect,
My words reveal
I choose to think, or use my voice
I choose to grumble or rejoice
But if I'm wronged
And feel the need
To react, with harsher deed -
I take a moment... just to breathe;
And hear my quiet, inner voice :
' you don't have the right
You must live with your choice'
Making The Right Choices
I Choose
